An
adventure story about a white Lion, Letsatsi,
born into the dangerous world of the African bush.
Letsatsi’s uniqueness makes him vulnerable
to every danger, including the ultimate enemy, Man.
He must beat all the odds to survive into adulthood,
find a home and rule a pride of his own.
According
to legend, White Lions are the Messengers of the
Gods, but Letsatsi’s rare white skin just
makes him an outsider. Cast out from the safety
of his pride by a pair of marauding males he is
ill equipped to survive alone.
Unable
to hunt for himself and close to starvation he by
chance finds and follows the scent of one his own
kind and is finally allowed to share in another
Lion’s kill. He has met his first friend,
the older tawny Lion Nkulu.
Nkulu
leads Letsatsi on a series of escapades and adventures
until they raid a farmer’s chicken run once
too often and Nkulu is trapped and killed.
Alone
again Letsatsi has to scavenge for his existence
until he slowly learns to survive on his own. He
matures into a formidable adult able to hunt for
himself, finally bringing down a stampeding wildebeest.
But word of his existence has spread and before
he can challenge another male for a pride of his
own, Letsatsi must face his greatest enemy - the
trophy hunter, for whom legends are worthless but
Letsatsi’s magnificent white skin is priceless.More...
